Offaly man Neil Delamere takes to the road this fortnight.
The comedian, who made the unusual jump from the heady world of, ahem, Computer Applications (he’s a DCU graduate) to stand-up, is a regular face at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival. It was there in fact that he made his comedic debut, back in 2004. This fortnight, he brings his latest show Restructuring to the Iontas Theatre, Monaghan (22), Meath’s Solstice Arts Centre (23), and the TF Royal Theatre, Castlebar (30, 31).
Meanwhile, Man 1 Bank 0 continues its Irish tour, with stop-offs this fortnight in Dublin’s Olympia (21 – 25), Balor Theatre, Donegal (26) and Sligo’s Hawk’s Well Theatre (27, 31). Motivational speaker Patrick Combs’ one-man show reveals how he lodged a dummy cheque into his bank account back in the ‘90s, but fought the good (if slightly immoral) fight, and managed to hang on to the money.
Navan’s finest Tommy Tiernan is also on the road over the next two weeks. The controversial comic continues his World Tour Of Kerry with a shedload of dates in the Kingdom – (deep breath): Hillgrove Hotel (March 22), Brandon Hotel (23), Sneem Hotel (24), INEC (25, 30), Gleneagle Hotel (25), Listowel Arms Hotel (29), Tintean Theatre (31). He then heads back to the capital for a performance of Poot in Vicar St. (April 5).
In the People’s Republic, Mario Rosenstock’s Gift Grub Live plays in the city’s Opera House on March 23, 24, 25, 30, 31 and April 1. Up north, catch Father Ted actor Michael Redmond in A Conversation With Father Stone in Belfast’s Black Box (April 4) and the Playhouse, Derry (5). David McSavage takes to the stage in Galway’s Roisin Dubh on March 23, and Limerick’s Dolans (29), and finally, Brendan Grace plays Killarney’s INEC on March 31.
