Crow Black Chicken
Blues-men serve up a tasty debut
Three years ago bearded blues-based behemoths Crow Black Chicken emerged from Ireland’s own Deep South armed with an arsenal of songs that sounded like they were forged in the swamps of Louisiana. Electric Soup is their debut album and features 13 tracks of tooth-rattling rhythm and blues and good old-fashioned ‘70s-tinged rock ‘n’ roll. Songs like ‘White Lightning’ and ‘Epitaph’ really shine thanks to an awesome performance from vocalist/guitarist Christy O’Hanlon – and his bassy, bourbon-drenched holler is effortlessly backed up by an unshakeable rhythm section. Fans of Cream, Rory Gallagher and all things classic rock will adore this assured debut. Electric Soup is the real deal.
