Some of the best Irish musicians will prepare for musical extravaganza in London later this spring as part of year long 'GB18 Programme: Celebrating Irish Arts in Britain'.
Some of Ireland's top contemporary musicians will meet with Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht Josepha Madigan T.D.as they prepare in Ireland's National Concert Hall for an upcoming, one-night-only musical gathering in London later this Spring.
Imagining Ireland: 21st Century Song is one of the key highlights of GB18, the Department’s yearlong focus on promoting Irish arts in Britain in 2018. GB18, organised by Culture Ireland, a Division of the Department, will include over 60 projects throughout England, Scotland and Wales. The full programme will be published in the coming weeks.
Among those the Minister will meet are BellX1's Paul Noonan, hip hop artists Mango & Mathman, atmosfolk artist Maria Kelly, the Sierra Leonean/Irish singer Loah, composer Éna Brennan and members of Crash Ensemble orchestra.

The London concert—Imagining Ireland: 21st Century Song— takes place at the prestigious Barbican Centre on Monday March 5th and features a stellar line-up of Irish pop and contemporary musicians. It builds on the successes of 2016's Imagining Ireland concert at London's Festival Hall and the 2014 Ceiliuradh concert at Royal Albert Hall that coincided with President Higgins' British State visit.
Irish audiences will have a chance to enjoy the Imagining Ireland: 21st Century Song concert first at Ireland's National Concert Hall on Saturday February 3rd, 2018. Tickets available www.nch.ie.
