The band have also just been inducted into the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame.
Having already announced an extensive tour for 2019 - which will see them play at Malahide Castle on June 8 - The Cure are set to release a new album next year.
In an interview with SiriusXM, frontman Robert Smith said,“We’re going in about six weeks time to finish up what will be our first album in more than a decade. It’s very exciting times for us all around.”
The frontman also added that he was motivated to get into the studio following the 2018 Meltdown Festival, which he himself curated. “Seeing all these new bands inspired me to do something new,” he explained.
Still one of the top bands making music in the modern day, we can't wait to hear what The Cure will bring us next.
