The fiery follow-up to the Tallaght rapper’s blistering debut album drops later this Spring.
Hot on the heels of a breakthrough 2024, Curtisy kicked off 2025 with a RTÉ Choice Prize Nomination for his debut album What Was The Question, alongside fellow Irish trailblazers Fontaines D.C. and KNEECAP.
Today, the Tallaght wordsmith unveils details of his follow-up mixtape Beauty In The Beast, which drops on 30th May 2025. To accompany the announcement, Curtisy has also shared the infectious title track, which you can check out below.
Produced in collaboration with hikii, Beauty In The Beast attempts to find hope amid hopelessness, drawing from the rapper’s working class upbringing in Tallaght.
On the title track, Curtisy meanders between themes of positive nostalgia, addiction and eviction, playing the hero, the villain and everything in between as he spins tales of the good, the bad and the ugly.

“The title track is about a personal experience with a friend that I think a lot of people can relate to”, Curtisy says. “They were struggling with addiction and it took a toll on our relationship. It’s about being sorry for not being able to help more, and recognising it could just have easily been me in the hole without the right guidance. Where I’m from this type of stuff is pretty common, I just wanted to make a song that people could hear and help them understand they’re not alone and no one’s to blame.”
In keeping with the Irish penchant for finding humour in tragedy, Beauty In The Beast finds Curtisy exploring this oxymoronic blend of toxic and positive coping mechanisms that built his working class, coming-of-age story; whether that be having pints at his local pub Jobstown House, working at a garage or rapping in his smoke-filled shed.
Speaking on how Beauty In The Beast differs from his critically-acclaimed debut What Was The Question, Curtisy notes: “With my debut album, I put together my best work from over the years and made it make sense, on Beauty In The Beast it was far more concentrated and precise.
“There’s particular moods and moments that are carried throughout the tape; we went into this knowing how many songs we wanted, knowing what story we wanted to tell, thinking about singles and videos as we were creating the project. It was created entirely in one place, during one period of time and I think that is noticeable throughout.”
