Thirteen new entrants to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have been selected and will be inducted later this year.
Thirteen Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees have been announced for 2025.
The announcement was made by American Idol host Ryan Seacrest during the show's prime-time live slot on Sunday.
Each member-to-be is entered into one of four categories - Performer, the Musical Influence Award, the Musical Excellence award and the Ahmet Ertegun Award.
In the Performer category, seven artists were selected from a ballot by a cohort of hundreds of music industry experts. Cyndi Lauper, OutKast, The White Stripes, Soundgarden, Chubby Checker, Bad Company and Joe Cocker will join the Hall of Fame.
Other artists on the ballot which didn't make the vote are Phish, Mariah Carey, Oasis, Billy Idol, Joy Division/New Order and Maná.

Voted on by a dedicated committee within the Hall of Fame, Salt-N-Peppa and Warren Zevon will be inducted under the Musical Influence Award category.
Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins and Carol Kaye were selected by a special committee for inclusion in the Musical Excellence Award category
The Ahmet Ertegun Award, named after the Hall's co-founder, recognises other roles within the music industry - this year, the award will go to former Warner Bros. Records president Lenny Waronker.
The induction ceremony is set to take place on November 8 at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.
