TikTok users will now have access to the dance legends' back catalogue of music as well as two brand new filters.
French electronic music duo Daft Punk have joined TikTok in hopes of building a new generation of fans.
Widely regarded as one of the most influential acts in dance music history, Daft Punk - aka Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo - formed in Paris in 1993.
They posted their first video with the caption "Let’s rewind time, on TikTok" on Monday, which includes a countdown that is followed by fast-paced clips from their career.

The TikTok has already been viewed over one million times, with one fan querying "What does this mean" and another one writing "How about we rewind time and do one last show". The duo last toured 15 years ago and announced their split in February 2021, hanging up their helmets after 28 years together.
They played their last show in 2017, when they performed a medley of songs they produced for The Weeknd with the singer during the Grammy Awards ceremony.
Due to a deal with TikTok, users will now have access to the dance legends' back catalogue of music for the first time to use in their own videos. And there is plenty to choose from, with hits like 'One More Time', 'Get Lucky' (feat. Pharrell Williams & Nile Rodgers), 'Around The World' and 'Da Funk'.
Because the duo held on to the rights to their music, the deals that TikTok made with record companies in recent years to license music for the platform did not cover Daft Punk, meaning that direct deals with the band were required.
From today, TikTok users will not only be able to use their songs but also two Daft Punk-themed filters. One features a customisable robot helmet and the other shows the humanlike dog Charlie from their 1997 music video for 'Da Funk', which was directed by American filmmaker Spike Jonze.
The cover image of the new video indicates that the duo will be posting memories from their 1993 to 2021 career on TikTok.
