Daithí drops new tracks featuring Paul Noonan and The Sei
Producer Daithí has released a new double A-Side, 'Take The Wheel'/'In My Darkest Moments'.
The two-time Choice Music Prize nominee is a curator of atmospheric electronic music, and this new project is no different.
Electro beats fuse with piano and vocals from Bell X1's Paul Noonan to create a hauntingly hopeful track with 'Take The Wheel'.
'In My Darkest Moments,' which features The Sei, is an ambient electro-house bop.
The tracks were born from Daithí's retreat to rural France to escape the heartache of an ended relationship. This explains the cathartic build-up between each track.
Both songs extract the vibrancy and intimacy that comes with a relationship and its end in an exploration of destruction and restoration.
"I became interested in the idea of how people deal with loss, and the different ways that they recover from it,” Daithí says of the project's creation. “I was at my lowest point, feeling like nothing would ever be okay again, and found myself writing all sorts of melodies and chords as a form of therapy..."
The two tracks are accompanied by a remix of 'Take The Wheel' (by musician-producer Kobina) and another edit of 'In My Darkest Moments'.
"This project scared me, but I'm also more proud of it than anything I've ever done,” Daithí adds.
