The Glastonbury Festival's Acoustic Stage will see an amazing lineup of Irish musicians from the 24th to the 26th of June.
The Glastonbury Festival is going to see a strong run of Irish musicians in its acoustic tent this year — with performances from Damien Dempsey, The Undertones, Hothouse Flowers, Brian Kennedy, Mary Coughlan and 49th & Main.
Described as a 'festival within a festival,' the acoustic tent hosts some of the most exciting names in blues, country and acoustic-based music — using that term loosely to encompass a wide range of artists from around the world.
Kicking off the weekend on Friday, the 24th of June is an incredible lineup of Hothouse Flowers, The Undertones, Mary Coughlan and Brian Kennedy, who are to be joined by headliners Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbot. Taking the sounds of hard-rock and Coughlan's bluesy blend of soul and jazz, Friday it set to see an impressive range of musical talent.
Headliners The Waterboys will be taking over Saturday, joined by first-timers Kilkenny indie-pop duo 49th & Main. Blending the sounds of upbeat pop with smooth synths and pulsing electronic beats, the pair will be bringing an indelible dance energy to the crowds at the acoustic stage.
Finishing up the weekend will be Damien Dempsey, who will join Suzanne Vega, The Shires, Chloe Foy and more on Sunday the 26th. Sure to be the capstone of an amazing weekend of music, the singer-songwriter driven sounds of Dempsey will bring stellar Irish representation to the legendary festival.
