Having made his triumphant return late last year with the release of the lauded Hold Your Joy – his first album of new music since 2017's Soulsun – Damien Dempsey is now gearing up for a special celebration of the project, with an exciting, one-off Windmill Live show in Dublin, on Thursday, March 27.
Taking place in the Townhall at 1WML, an iconic structure at the heart of the Windmill QTR, this unique Hot Press treat is the latest in a line of acclaimed gigs, following performances from James Vincent McMorrow, LYRA, Gavin James, Lisa Hannigan, The Coronas, Hothouse Flowers, The Academic, Moncrieff and more, at one of Dublin’s most rock ‘n’ roll coordinates.
Over the course of an extraordinary career, spanning over 25 years, Damien Dempsey has earned a reputation as one of the country's most beloved and uncompromising artists, with three No.1 albums and countless sold-out shows under his belt.
His latest album, Hold Your Joy, scored a rave nine-star review in Hot Press, with Will Russell praising the "mighty record", and describing the Donaghmede singer-songwriter as "an artist at the top of his game."
Fresh from headlining this year's edition of Rock Against Homelessness, Damo is currently in the midst of his Hold Your Joy Tour, which takes him to prestigious venues across Ireland and the UK – before he returns to Dublin for two major shows in the Iveagh Gardens on July 11 and 12.

We can also reveal that another thrilling Dublin talent, Conor Hamilton, will be performing as the special guest on the night. Fans may recognise the hotly tipped singer as a former support acts at one of Damo's famous Vicar Street gigs, with his alternative rock band Motion Control. The group released their latest single, 'Suffer', in December.
Before establishing himself as a captivating force in Irish music, Conor also found success on-screen, with a role in the acclaimed film Sing Street.
