Coinciding with his 20th year of releasing albums, Dublin's own Damien Dempsey announces a 2020 gig at Iveagh Gardens.
With all Vicar Street shows in December now sold out in record time, Damien Dempsey is announcing a summer return to Iveagh Gardens on 10 July 2020.
Over the next few months, Dempsey will also be releasing a series of live tracks from this year's Iveagh Gardens gig. The first track, 'Serious (Live At Iveagh Gardens)' will be released via Soulsun/Sony on 1 November 2019.
With eight albums to date, Damien Dempsey has solidified his role as an important name in Irish music. Nearly twenty years into his album-making career, he has been lauded as a stellar live act, creating a palpable connection between the stage and the audience. Taking cues from the works of Christy Moore, Shane McGowan, Luke Kelly, and Bob Marley, his music has evolved greatly over the decades.
Dempsey's most recent album, Union, showcases new songs and re-imagined Damo classics, featuring numerous collaborative tracks alongside Finbar Furey, John Grant, Kate Tempest, Maverick Sabre, and Lisa O’Neil, amongst others.
