Gorillaz bandleader Damon Albarn has announced a new project from the collaborative effort Africa Express, a collective comprised of both African and Western musicians.
The group announced a new forthcoming album in addition to releasing a new four-track EP, entitled ‘MOLO’, taken from the word for “hello” in the South African language of Xhosa.
'MOLO' was created in Johannesburg over the course of one week, and is the product of efforts from the likes of Gruff Rhys, Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Nick Zinner, Ghetts, Mr Jukes (aka Bombay Bicycle Club frontman Jack Steadman) and more, as well as local African artists including Blk Jks, Infamous Boiz, Morena Leraba and Phuzekhemisi.
