EGOLI, the new album from Africa Express, is out on July 12.
Damon Albarn's musical collective Africa Express have announced a new album, EGOLI. Ahead of the album's July 12 release, the group have shared a new track, 'Johannesburg', titled after the location where the project was created.
As well as Albarn, the electronic album is set to feature a collection of both Western and African artists, including Gruff Rhys, Nick Zinner, Georgia, Ghetts, Mr Jukes, Blk Jks, Infamous Boiz, Morena Leraba and Phuzekhemisi. EGOLI follows the release of the MOLO EP in March, which was created in Johannesburg over the course of one week.
Founded in 2006, Africa Express aims to celebrate musical collaboration that transcends borders and boundaries. Over the last few of years, the collective has performed across Africa, Europe and Britain, winning praise from critics and audiences alike.
