Another electric performance from the Essex pair
It’s a wintry oul night out, but Dublin’s hottest new venue, The Workman’s Club, is jam-packed and positively buzzing. The crowd is in fine fettle as: a) It’s Friday, and b) Essex hip hop/dance act dan le sac Vs Scroobius Pip are about to take to the stage.
Tonight was originally supposed to be a stand alone gig, but when tickets sold out at lightning speed (possibly on the strength of their fantastic EP appearance this summer), the duo kindly added another date. And by all accounts, last night's performance went down a storm – though this doesn’t mean the pair plan to rest on their laurels this evening.
They open with ‘Sick Tonight’, the first single from their excellent second LP The Logic of Chance, and follow it up with the touching ‘Look For The Woman’ from debut Angles. And as they continue to showcase both albums over the next hour or so, it’s clear from the singing, sweating, and downright ecstatic crowd’s reactions that the boys have a seriously dedicated Irish fanbase.
Support act Kid A joins them for a fab rendition of new single ‘Cauliflower’, and when the boys finally leave the stage, fans are literally crying out for more.
And come back they do, with an encore performance of the fantastic ‘The Beat That My Heart Skipped.’
As ever chaps - brilliant stuff.
