The fundraising target is €5,000 for PPE.
Irish Eurovision stars are joining forces for a special webcast this Saturday, June 20th, to raise money for Personal Protection Equipment during the pandemic.
Dana, Phil Coulter, Secret Garden, Mickey Joe Harte, Marc Roberts, Sandy Kelly and Eamonn Toal are uniting for the hour-long Ireland's Eurovision Lockdown Fundraiser on YouTube.
Mick Lynch, author of What’s Another Year: Ireland’s First Five Decades at Eurovision, has organised the webinar, with other artists from Ireland's Eurovision past contributing unseen archive footage and memories for the programme.
Working as a biopharma by day, Mick fostered relationships with numerous Eurovision stars over the last few decades while he was writing his book.
"With no official Eurovision Song Contest taking place this year, and with Ireland having the greatest success in Eurovision history, while still in Lockdown, I decided to ask some of Ireland’s Eurovision singers and songwriters to contribute to a fundraising event to raise money for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for our frontline workers," Lynch comments.
"I am overwhelmed and humbled that they all sent and made videos. I had planned to put it out on the weekend of the Eurovision but some late entries came in and I felt it would be wrong to leave them out after going to the trouble of recording a piece," he said.

Rowland Soper, writer of Ireland’s 1966 Eurovision entry 'Come Back To Stay', and other Irish entrants over the last 50 years have offered performances and anecdotes of their time in the Eurovision competition.
The webcast will also feature unique collaborations and renewed versions of classic Eurovision winners.
All of the donations from the GoFundMe link will be transferred to the HSE to raise money for PPE for Ireland’s frontline workers. The target is €5,000.
The webinar will take place on the below YouTube channel, going live this Saturday, June 20 at 8pm.
