The Foo Fighters drummer joined the band onstage for their song 'Satanist' at their Halloween Hollywood Bowl show.
Dave Grohl joined indie supergroup boygenius onstage last night during the band's special Halloween show at the Hollywood Bowl in California.
He played drums for the band during their song 'Satanist', matching the show's costume dress code with an all-black outfit and ghostly facepaint.

boygenius themselves, comprised of artists Lucy Dacus, Julien Baker and Phoebe Bridgers, dressed up as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, respectively.
Grohl is most well known as the singer and guitarist in the band Foo Fighters, but he returned to his drumming roots with this performance: he got his start as the drummer in Nirvana. This weekend also saw him perform with the Foo Fighters as the music guest on SNL, in support of their most recent album But Here We Are which was released in June.

boygenius are in the midst of touring their most recent release the record, which was released this spring. Most recently they released a follow-up to the record called the rest, which included four brand-new songs.
They visited Dublin's Royal Hospital Kilmainham over the summer- you can read Hot Press' live review HERE.
This isn't the first time boygenius has channelled Grohl- they recreated a 1994 Nirvana Rolling Stone cover for their own cover, and mimicked a series of other Nirvana photoshoots.
