Dave wins Mercury Prize for Album of the Year
Amongst all the drama, Dave took home the Mercury Prize for his debut record Psychodrama.
It was a crazy night at the Mercury Prize ceremony yesterday - decapitated heads were involved and a certain UK rock band performed in their underwear. That said, the fact that Dave won the album of the year for his stellar debut record Psychodrama was probably the least surprising thing about the night.
Psychodrama was among the frontrunners for the award, Hot Press' Paul Stokes calling it "a highly promising debut".
"I want to thank everyone that made this happen, I want to thank all of the exceptional musicians who performed tonight... I respect you all so highly", Dave said in his acceptance speech.
The rapper also performed his song 'Psycho' at the award show. Watch the full performance below:
