Songs by Bowie, REM, Nirvana and Prince are all set to be inducted into the GRAMMY Hall Of Fame in 2017.
'Changes', from Bowie's Hunky Dory album, along with Nirvana’s ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’, Prince’s ‘Sign O’ The Times’, and REM’s ‘Losing My Religion’ will join the likes of The Beach Boys’ ‘I Get Around’, Elvis' ‘Jailhouse Rock’ and NWA’s ‘Straight Outta Compton’ in going into the GRAMMY Hall Of Fame as part of their ‘Class Of 2017’.
Billboard reports that tracks must be at least 25 years old in order to be deemed eligible to enter.
“The Grammy Hall Of Fame represents all genres of music, acknowledging the diversity of musical expression for which The Academy has become renowned,” said The Recording Academy president and CEO Neil Portnow. “Memorable and inspiring, these recordings are proudly added to our growing catalogue and are an integral part of our musical, social and cultural history.”
