In the gathering of three great and poetical minds, superstar Belfast producer David Holmes, Manchester poet Mike Garry and fellow Mancunian DJ Helen have come up with an ace 'Tonight In Belfast' remix of Orbital's classic 1991 rave anthem, 'Belfast'. Out today, it's the curtain raiser for the April 19th re-release of the Hartnoll brothers' debut The Green Album and accompanying tour which touches down in Vicar Street, Dublin on May 5.

As Mike, who regularly performs here with his bestie John Cooper Clarke, explained before Christmas to Hot Press: “A few months ago, a DJ mate of mine said, ‘Listen, I hope you don’t mind, but I’ve done a bootleg of one of your poems – 'Tonight' – put over the top of the David Holmes remix of ‘Belfast’ by Orbital.’ I’m not cool, I don’t go to clubs but it sounded great! She’s played it a couple of times at gigs and the audience has gone crazy.”

Picking up the story, Helen says: “The tune goes on such a journey which complements the emotion and story in 'Tonight' perfectly. I'm honoured to have connected with such established artists.”

Orbital and David Holmes are in total agreement,

"Like all good collaborations of this nature this one changes the whole landscape and creates so much more than the sum of its parts,” says the former while Holmer enthuses: “It was a beautiful surprise to hear the dulcet tones of Mike Garry waxing lyrical over my remix of 'Belfast'. Pure joy.”
