You'll have three separate chances to catch the very much on-the-rise David Keenan at next week's Electric Picnic - you can find him on The Other Voices Stage on Friday at 7, the Jerry Fish stage on Saturday at 6, and the Body & Soul, Sunday at 7. But ahead of all that excitement, Keenan has announced a secret show at an undisclosed Dublin location for next Wednesday, 29th August. This is what the man himself has to say about it:
"Like-minded souls & potential like-minded souls, I am happy to announce a secret gig somewhere in Dublin on Wednesday the 29th of August. This will be a special gathering, with Free admission for those of you unable to make the Picnic and those of you who have supported me throughout the year. Register now to ensure you get a ticket, there are only 80 available. I send word that you now to register, Do not be disappointed X"
Once described by your humble correspondent as "Not just another young lad with an acoustic guitar, Keenan is the sound of Tim Buckley and Brendan Behan arguing over a few jars, while Kavanagh deals Dylan a suspicious hand of cards, and Anthony Cronin and Jack Kerouac furiously try to scribble it all down." - Jaysus, I was on fire that day! - you can take our word for it, Keenan is the real deal.
