The recent Hot Press cover star returns with a moving St. Patrick's Day gift for fans.
Despite the announcement of gig cancellations on his European tour, David Keenan isn't slowing down – as he releases a stunning acoustic version of his single 'Unholy Ghosts' to mark St. Patrick's Day.
Recorded live from the Olympia Theatre, Dublin during his stellar headliner back in January, the new version strips the original song down its most raw and honest roots.
"I wrote this song on a train from Amsterdam to Cologne," Keenan revealed in a statement about the single's original release, "Finished it as the train ceased to move, brought it in me to a Chapel in Cologne, sang it for the first time, left the Chapel with a liberated German bible under my arm as a souvenir."
The single also appeared on his powerful full-length debut, released earlier this year.
"Keenan promised much, and has delivered more," Pat Carty wrote in his review of A Beginner's Guide To Bravery for Hot Press. "His words hold poetry beyond his years, and the music, which ranges from soft folk to dark atmospherics to gloriously untethered, gospel-tinged testifying, is fired with passion, played by a crack band who know they’re involved in something very special. Reach and grasp are equal. The first great record of the year."
