Not long after his last LP Yous, Irish singer songwriter David Kitt is to drop a new EP entitled Like Lightning.

The six-track extended play will be available through All City Records on 10″ vinyl and digital on Friday 14th September. It's title derives from the song of the name which appeared on his previous release.

Speaking about the EP's relationship with the track, Kitt said in a statement: "'Like Lightning' was written after a late night/early morning adventure with friends in Galway city a good few years ago now. I always find it hard to choose singles, but this seemed to be lot of people's favourite album track.

"I've availed of every last second of space on the 10 inch to turn this release into a mini-album of sorts, with three quite different instrumentals: one part folk, one part modular electronic and one recorded using two Buddah boxes in the Glasgow underground. There are also two unreleased songs I think fit nicely on this release.”

Kitt made headlines earlier in the year for revealing the high costs of living in Dublin had forced him to move country.
