In the theatrically hit-and-miss career of California radio rockers Maroon 5, ‘Daylight’ falls somewhere in between the two states. Featuring none of the catchiness of recent hits ‘One More Night’ and the colossal ‘Moves Like Jagger’, but still, nowhere near as groanworthy as the inexplicably popular ‘Payphone’, it comes under the category of maudlin serenade; a well-constructed, mildly uplifting, but ultimately forgettable track. As it happens, the music video, which features a hundred or so fans in candid confessionals with their webcams, is a much better use of your time.
