Melissa Etheridge is full of guts, blood and thunder. Eddi Reader soft, delicate and sensitive. Melissa Etheridge appears plastic and forced singing her own song, Eddi Reader infuses genuine feeling into ‘Dear John’. Neither song is outstanding but for sure Eddi Reader’s gentle soul is infinitely preferable to the processed upbeat AOR produced by Ms Etheridge.
