“After 20 years I’m still hugely nostalgic for it and love that it has become a favourite for so many others," says Declan O'Rourke. "To celebrate and release Kyabram all over again, this time with a deeper dive inside the tapes, is going to be such a trip."
In October 2004, in the midst of Dublin’s buzzing music scene, Declan O’Rourke released his debut album Since Kyabram. In its first week, the record shot up the charts to no.5 and over the following two years achieved gold, platinum and twice platinum status. It quickly became a classic album favourite, with several notable singles, among them ‘We Didn’t Mean To Go To Sea,’ ‘Sarah’ and ‘Galileo.’
To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the singer-songwriter has announced a special edition re-issue of Since Kyabram on vinyl and CD, which comprises the original record and a second disc of new bonus material.
“Since Kyabram is a record I’m very proud of, both as an introductory body of work and a collection of songs individually,” says O’Rourke. “After 20 years I’m still hugely nostalgic for it and love that it has become a favourite for so many others. To celebrate and release Kyabram all over again, this time with a deeper dive inside the tapes, is going to be such a trip."
To keep up the celebrations, he has also unveiled a string of Irish tour dates this Autumn. Tickets go on sale this Friday 10th May, via Singular Artists for Cork and Dublin and Waterfront for Belfast. See below for tour dates:
