"Spitting hybrid Irish in London around a Zambian/Irish crew"
After a few months of flying under the radar, Denise Chaila has announced a support slot for Sampa the Great in London.
Alongside DJ CC, the Limerick-based sensation will perform on July 5th in Koko.
"It’s been a few months since I’ve actively used social media (hello!) and I’ve wondered how I would break my silence for a while," Chaila posted to Instagram today. "This is gonna be my first time working alongside a Zambian woman who raps, and ngl that’s putting some kind of draconian fire in my chest.
"Spitting hybrid Irish in London around a Zambian/Irish crew? As above, so below. Happy Prideee," she added.
After supporting Ed Sheeran on his Irish tour last year, the Choice Music Prize winner performed to crowds at Croke Park, Cork’s Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Limerick’s Thomond Park, Boucher Road Playing Fields in Belfast, King John's Castle, Limerick and Electric Picnic 2022.

The Irish-Zambian artist released her breakthrough EP Go Bravely back in 2020, before It's A Mixtape dropped the following year. The Narolane Records co-founder recently unveiled the Walk vinyl EP in April with MuRli and God Knows.
The record is the first long form release from the collective, featuring four tracks which celebrate life and change, rousing energy through dynamic, optimistic and introspective lyricism. While they have all released music as solo artists on the Narolane label, Walk EP marks the arrival of their first joint project, a new chapter in Narolane's artistic journey.
