The winner of Irish Album of the Year will be revealed at a ceremony in Vicar Street tonight.
Ahead of the highly anticipated RTÉ Choice Music Prize ceremony this evening, Dermot Kennedy has been announced as the winner of Irish Song of the Year, for his lauded track 'Better Days'.
The announcement was made live on RTÉ 2FM and the RTÉ Player, as part of special Choice Music Prize coverage presented by Tracy Clifford. Over the course of the afternoon, the presenter spoke to the acts about the inspiration behind their shortlisted singles.
The single was selected by public vote, after the shortlist was announced in January.
Kicking off at 7.30pm this evening, the Choice Music Prize ceremony will feature performances from some of the acts shortlisted for Irish Album of the Year, including Soda Blonde, Elaine Mai, For Those I Love, HousePlants, Kojaque, Mick Flannery & Susan O'Neill and Villagers.

Last year, Niall Horan's 'No Judgement' secured the most votes to win the RTÉ Choice Music Prize Irish Song of the Year.
