Dermot Kennedy has announced two nights at Dublin’s 3Arena on December 13 and 14 – with all profits going to Pieta and Focus Ireland.
The two charitable causes are close to Dermot’s heart – with Pieta providing a free, therapeutic approach to people who are in suicidal distress and those who engage in self-harm; and Focus Ireland providing services for people who are homeless and people at risk of homelessness in Ireland.
“I’m so grateful to be playing two shows in Dublin this December in aid of Pieta and Focus Ireland, two incredible charities," the Dublin singer-songwriter says. "Suicide and homelessness are two issues that are sadly so prevalent in Ireland today. There are so many people that badly need our help, especially at this time of year. Please think of them and let’s come together and raise as much money as we can for these extremely important causes.“
Over the last year, Dermot has scored another Top 20 single in the UK and Top 5 single in Ireland with the track ‘Better Days’. In September he completed a UK tour, reaching over 90,000 fans. The tour included three sold-out nights at London’s Alexandra Palace – breaking the record for the first artist in history to play three sold-out shows there on their debut album. This was then followed by a North American tour that featured a triumphant sold-out show at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado.
