Quickly becoming one of Ireland's most impressive musical talents, Dermot Kennedy will be featured in a special episode of Other Voices.
Recent Hot Press cover star and currently one of the hottest musicians propelled to fame from Ireland, Dermot Kennedy will now be featured on a special episode of RTE's Other Voices.
First featuring on the show back in 2017 with an intimate performance at St. James' Church in Dingle, Kennedy has since risen to international fame and is currently touring across North America.
The special feature will include performances from Dingle, his appearance at the Other Voices stage at Electric Picnic this summer, his most recent performance at Other Voices in Berlin this July, and an interview with Dermot himself.
Speaking with Hot Press's Lucy O'Toole earlier this autumn, Kennedy mentioned a particularly memorable moment of his summer tour – meeting President Michael D. Higgins.

“He’s so unanimously loved,” he beamed. Recalling the recording the President shared with him to play at his Electric Picnic set, Kennedy continues: “When we got the speech we were like, ‘Fuck yes – everybody’s going to love this!’ I met him when I played an Other Voices gig in Berlin. It’s amazing that he gives a shit about things like this. What a cool President to have. I got multiple comments on the video of the speech from people in America saying, ‘Wouldn’t it be nice to have a President like this?’”
The message, which encouraged the crowd "to celebrate who we are" and "to aspire to become a better version of ourselves" received a resounding applause.
The Other Voices Dermot Kennedy Special will air on RTÉ 2 at 11.30pm on Thursday, October 24. In the meantime, catch up with the full interview with him from September.
