Hall's band Princess Goes is set to play Wicklow for Beyond The Pale 2024 from June 21-23
Beyond The Pale Festival, 2024 has released its line-up for attendees from June 21 to 23 at Glendalough Estate in Co Wicklow, Ireland. Among the Irish acts set to perform is Princess Goes, the band led by actor Michael C. Hall, best known for his roles in Dexter and Six Feet Under.
Joining Princess Goes are Canadian indie pop band Alvvays, Australian singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett, and Thievery Corporation, making their first Irish festival appearance ever. The festival will also host YouTube sensation Marc Rebillet and Obongjayar, known for his collaboration on Adore You.
Formed between 2018 and 2019, Princess Goes was founded by Michael C. Hall, Matt Katz-Bohen, and Peter Yanowitz. Their debut single 'Ketamine' was released in 2019, followed by 'Come Talk to Me' in 2020. The band released their debut EP Thanks for Coming in 2020 after the pandemic halted live performances. Among ongoing work on their anticipated album, the band went on tour across Europe in 2021.
Princess Goes has called their style "kaleidoscopic sound weather" and "danceable apocalypse." They blend heavy synth components with different genre influences. Some of their inspirations include Giorgio Moroder, Black Sabbath, and Bach, as noted on their official Facebook page.
Headlining Beyond The Pale this year are funk soul artists Jungle and Jessie Ware, along with Belgian electronic rock acts Soulwax, xx front-woman Romy, and techno producer Richie Hawtin.
Attendees can also engage in various activities, including art installations, comedy, theatre, and cabaret in the festival's Arts space. Beyond The Pale will offer massages, acupuncture, and meditation sessions in the wellness area, while foodies can explore Beyond The Plate. The festival offers glamping options provided by Silk Road Tents and Pitch Perfect as well.
