Oasis, Sade, Mariah Carey, Jane's Addiction, Lenny Kravitz and Eric B. & Rakim also failed to make the final cut
The inductees for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2024 have been revealed – with Sinéad O'Connor fans disappointed to see the iconic Irish singer not included among the final selection.
Sinéad was nominated for the honour back in February, alongside a star-studded selection of names.
Those who made the final cut include Mary J. Blige, Cher, Dave Matthews Band, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Kool & The Gang, Ozzy Osbourne, and A Tribe Called Quest.
Big Mama Thornton, Alexis Korner, John Mayall were announced under the Musical Influence Award, while inductees under the Musical Excellence Award include Jimmy Buffett, MC5, Dionne Warwick, and Norman Whitfield.
To be eligible for inclusion in the Hall of Fame, an act must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years ago. Other nominees who didn't make the final cut include Oasis, Sade, Mariah Carey, Jane's Addiction, Lenny Kravitz and Eric B. & Rakim.

“Rock & Roll is an ever-evolving amalgam of sounds that impacts culture and moves generations,” says John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation. “This diverse group of inductees each broke down musical barriers and influenced countless artists that followed in their footsteps.”
The 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction will be broadcast on Saturday, October 19, at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio.
