The new Disclosure project follows 2020’s Energy.
Dance duo Disclosure are set to release their fourth album Alchemy this Friday, July 14 via Apollo Records in partnership with AWAL.
The project won't contain any features or samples, instead relying on the original production of brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence.
“There was this combination of deep heartbreak and sadness, but also deep admiration and appreciation,” conceded Howard, speaking to Mixmag. “Let’s turn this horrible feeling into something beautiful. The whole idea was to channel pain into beauty – which, in hindsight, is always the aim.”
Commenting on how they approached the record, Guy stated that “All our other albums were written in third person. Before now, very few of our songs were about things that happened to us and our lives.”

In a press release, Guy elaborates, “This record is a celebration of us feeling liberated right now. We’re no longer signed to a major record label. We’re not going to tour this record. We can do whatever we like and be super creative.”
He's said to be embracing “everything from jungle breaks and trance-like supersaw synth riffs to rapid tempo four-to-the-floor club tracks.”
The artwork for the record was hand-crafted by textile artist Llinos Owen and is the first time the brothers feature on a cover since the release of their full-length debut Settle, which will celebrate its ten-year anniversary with a special edition vinyl release next month.
Alchemy is set to be the fourth studio album from the prolific siblings, following up from 2020’s Energy.
The pair have announced that they will mark the release with an album-launch party at The Cause in East London on Friday.
