The new single 'Got Weird' deals with dodie's experience with a "strange date." Along with the song comes an intimate lyric video.
Dodie's 'Got Weird' is her first new release since debut album Build A Problem in 2021. Both the song itself and lyric video are brilliantly honest and intimate.
Dodie gets vulnerable about their journey with sexuality on the pop-driven tune. "I get the ick with myself whenever I date girls. It might be internalised biphobia, it might be from lack of representation growing up," dodie explains. The lyrics 'Clearly I got sh-t to figure out' and 'Call me up again, I won't get weird,' show them trying to work through these issues. Dodie tweeted the song, writing "here's to gay panic."

The lyric video is a single-shot close-up of dodie's face behind a glass pane. She begins to sing along with the lyrics, and by the chorus they begin to press their face and hands against the glass and kiss it, passionately. Dodie tweeted calling the video "really f-cking weird," saying "you're gonna hate it and I can't wait."

Dodie is known for being an honest songwriter. This clearly resonates with her audience, as the album debuted at number 3 on the Official UK Album Charts and she has amassed over 1 billion streams. They have also sold out 100 consecutive shows across the globe.
Their third EP Human earned the highest new entry on the Official Irish Album Charts. They made their way through Ireland in 2021 for massive headline tour, stopping at Ulster Hall, Belfast, The Helix, Dublin and Cyprus Avenue, Cork.
Dubliner Orla Gartland is also touring musician with the 27-year-old Enfield singer-songwriter, so the Irish representation is strong with this one. Both artists made their start on YouTube, gaining an intensely loyal fanbase.
