Dolly Parton had previously announced that she would "respectfully bow out" of the running for the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, after being nominated earlier this year.
The inductees for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2022 have been announced – including Dolly Parton, Eminem, Judas Priest, Jimmy Iovine, Pat Benatar, Duran Duran, Lionel Richie, Eurythmics, Carly Simon, Harry Belafonte, Elizabeth Cotten, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Allen Grubman, and Sylvia Robinson.
"It's a diverse group of extremely talented individuals and bands who have had a significant impact and influence on rock & roll, the music that connects us all," the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame have stated. "Thank you to our voting body and to all of you who participated in the Fan Vote."
After the nominations had been announced in March, Dolly Parton took to Instagram to announce that, although she was "extremely flattered and grateful to be nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame," she didn't feel she had "earned that right."
"I really do not want votes to be split because of me, so I must respectfully bow out," she continued. "I do hope that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will understand and be willing to consider me again – if I'm every worthy. This has, however, inspired me to put out a hopefully great rock 'n' album at some point in the future, which I have always wanted to do! My husband is a total rock 'n' roll freak, and has always encouraged me to do one. I wish all of the nominees good luck and thank you again for the compliment. Rock on!"
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, however, issued a statement in response, noting that the ballots had already been sent out.

Yesterday evening, Parton responded to be being selected for the Class of 2022 – stating she was "honored and humbled."
I am honored and humbled by the fact that I have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Of course I will accept it gracefully. Thanks to everyone that voted for me and to everyone at the @rockhall. I will continue to work hard and try to live up to the honor. pic.twitter.com/kDTw8u7a1c
