Donovan has written a Christmas song – 'Christmas Time Is Here Again' with his mother-in-law, Violetta. All proceeds from the single go to Barnardos charity.

Violetta (Violet Lawrence) penned the lyrics and Donovan the melody. Violetta (real name Violet Lawrence), who is Donovan's wife Linda’s mother, celebrated her 88th birthday last October.

The single was recorded in Fiona Studios, Fermoy, Co Cork, and produced by Brian O’Reilly. The children of Ballyhass School choir and Lili Inch lend their voices to the project.

Donovan says of his mother-in-law: “Violetta is a late bloomer. She has sung all her life and always had a dream of recording. She’s a really good lyricist and a wonderful woman.”
