Yesterday via his Twitter, Dr. Dre revealed thesome of the cast and release date of the upcoming NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton. In a photo with the caption "8/14/15 #StraightOuttaCompton ", obviously a signal of a August 14, 2015 release date, he was pictured along with former NWA member Ice Cube and the film's director F. Gary Gray. Also in the photo were the actors who would be playing Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and Eazy-E.

Dr. Dre will be portrayed by Marcus Callender, who only has a select number of USA television appearances on his CV, which somehow makes him the veteran of the trio. Eazy-E will be played by Jason Mitchell making his screen acting debut, while Ice Cube will be portrayed by his own son O'Shea Jackson Jr.

No word yet on who will be playing the other members of NWA, MC Ren and DJ Yella, but details should be forthcoming.
