The third series of the UK crime drama will be available to stream on Netflix in 2019, six years after its cancellation.
The first series of Top Boy was broadcast on Channel 4 in 2011 over consecutive nights from 31 October to 3 November.
Season one was set in the fictional 'Summerhouse' housing estate in Hackney and followed the lives of a group involved in drug dealing and street gangs.
In August 2013, the show returned for a second series, this time emphasising the effects of drugs upon people living in London estates.
Despite Top Boy's critical acclaim, in 2014 Channel 4 announced that it would not be commissioned for a third.
However it has been confirmed today that it will return in 2019 with another 10 episodes, Drake will be a producer and Ashley Walters and Kano will return to their starring roles.
This will be Drake's first move into TV, but the Canadian rapper has been singing the praises of the show since 2014.
Rumours that Drake will star in the reboot remain unconfirmed, but a press release from Netflix has offered a brief synopsis of the new season;
"as Dushane (Walters) returns from exile to his home in London to reclaim his throne in the highly lucrative drug market. He teams up with Sully (Kane Robinson), his spiritual brother, partner, and sometime rival who is also returning to the same streets after his own form of exile – prison – comes to an end. Awaiting them both is Jamie, the young, hungry and ruthless gang leader whose ambitions leave no place for Dushane and Sully."
