‘Drive’ offers sparkling proof as to why Shadowplay ran off with the recent Hot Press Lift Off @ The Music Show competition, and it sure augurs well for the album they’ll record as part of their prize. It’s almost illegally infectious from the off, with a stonking knees-up beat, searing guitar runs, relentless piano and cheesily charming vocals from Andy with added harmonies from Eoghan and Emmett to go. It has elements of The Beatles, Keane and Coldplay, but ultimately, this is Shadowplay’s own wondrous creation.
