Driven Snow is set to perform at Smock Alley Theatre on November 16, tickets start at €18.50
Duo Driven Snow released their cover of My Bloody Valentine's 'When You Sleep' on October 11, and have shared a colourful music video to accompany the track.
The tune is taken from Driven Snow's debut album A Kind of Dreaming and has an emotional aesthetic, with a slow lullaby melody that makes the track stand out from the original.
“When the themes of the album started to present themselves, this song seemed to fit perfectly,” Kieran and Emily recall. “Tommy, who collaborated on and produced the recording, didn’t even recognise the song as a cover, initially, so there weren’t any pre-conceived ideas to tie it down to the MBV version. When it’s played live there’s often a ripple of recognition in the crowd when they catch that it is a 30 -year old My Bloody Valentine song!”
The music video for the song features vintage film footage, with trippy bright visuals that feel surreal contrasted with the slow temperant beat. The video adds a bit of vintage soul, and gives off 2016 Tumblr vibes.
Driven Snow has received growing attention with their releases, including radio play in Ireland, the UK, Europe, and even parts of North America and South Africa.

The opening songs of the duo's album hint at a yearning curiosity in their songwriting, blending classic harmonies with uncluttered acoustic and electronic sounds. Their influences include Neil Young, Beach House, Cat Power, Scandinavian TV shows and fireside beers.
