Dropkick Murphys drop latest single 'Ten Times More' from forthcoming album This Machine Still Kills Fascists along with a music video. The song and album are a collaboration with the late Woody Guthrie.
'Ten Times More' was written, arranged and recorded on the spot by Dropkick Murphys using Guthries battle cry for the working man. The stomping percussion, harmonica, and raw vocals give it an incredibly organic feel.
The video accompanying the song is made up of old fashioned film-grained footage of the band members performing the song. It also features cameos from effigies of America's foremost labor opponents, and modern day fascists.
The Boston rock band is doing something completely new for their twelfth studio album. Not covers nor a tribute album, TMSKF is a full album that 'bring Woody Guthrie's words to life.' Although the artists are separated by both time and space, Dropkick Murphys feel connected to Guthrie's philosophies. An American folk singer known for work that focused on socialism and anti-fascism, Guthrie has inspired many artists even after his death in 1967. The album is created largely from unpublished bodies of work by Guthrie, curated by daughter Nora Guthrie.
