Drug Store Romeos Announce Debut Album with New Single, ‘What’s On Your Mind’

Hampshire trio Drug Store Romeos have released their newest single, ‘What’s On Your Mind’ as a teaser to their upcoming album, The world within our bedrooms, out June 25.

The dream-pop album is out via Fiction Records. Drug Store Romeos share a similar sound to label-mates Tame Impala and The Naked and Famous.

The world within our bedrooms features 15 tracks and is explained as, “a journey of emotions and colour schemes. A lot of bands have a consistent emotion across their whole album, but we wanted to reflect the ever changing nature of someone’s mental state over a period of time. We always wanted to create our own world, and as a three we have this force field around us.”

The British bandmates, Charlie, Jonny, and Sarah formed their group in college when Sarah applied to be a bassist for the band, however, her ethereal voice led her to become the main vocalist for the trio.

According to their Instagram, the band have been working on this album for the last 4-5 years, but the bulk of the project was created last year during the pandemic.

‘What’s On Your Mind’ reflects on the highs and lows of life as the band describes it as, “realisations about past situations that send you down rabbit holes… During this journey you go through positive and negative emotions, but the negative emotions are not inherently bad and can lead to positive change.”

Songs such as ‘What’s On Your Mind’, ‘Electric Silence’ and ‘Cycle Of Life’ feature on Drug Store Romeos’ debut album, The world within our bedrooms.
