Watch musical maestro Chris Kabs deliver a set of sonic excellence live on the Hot Press Y&E Series tonight – supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
We are delighted to announce a special performance tonight from Dublin-based rapper, producer and singer-songwriter Chris Kabs as part of the Hot Press Y&E series!
Presented in conjunction with the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, the new series will feature an impressive total of 40 exclusive, intimate sets. You can watch Chris Kabs's performance tonight, November 2nd, at 7pm, streamed live on the Hot Press Instagram.
A singular visionary who has garnered himself somewhat of a cult status in Dublin and beyond, Chris Kabs has achieved major success producing for artists - including JyellowL’s track 'Ozone,' which was featured on the FIFA 20 soundtrack and ‘Oh Lawd’ for RTÉ's adaptation of Sally Rooney's novel Normal People. With a distinctive vocal and production style, Kabs's unique artistry has garnered him a dedicated following, being last year's most-played black Irish male artist on national radio.
Seamlessly fusing trap, afrobeats, soul and pop, Kabs's solo music oscillates between wildly high-octane and poignantly melancholic, interrogating everything from emotional heartbreak to police brutality. The artist's live shows are no different; having showcased his musical prowess with headline shows at the Sound House and the Grand Social in the past. Kabs has also produced hits for some of the biggest names in Irish hip-hop, including JyellowL's Choice Music Prize-nominated debut album, 2020 D|Vision.
