Dublin death metal outfit Primordial have unveiled an upcoming hometown gig at The Academy on Saturday 18th October, 2025.
Tickets start from €42.50, including booking fee, and go on sale on Friday 7th February at 10 am via the band's website.
Having carved out a niche in the Irish scene for 32 years, Primordial spent much of their career concocting a unique blend of extreme and death metal fused with Celtic sensibilities.
The roots of Primordial date back to 1987, when founders Pól and Ciarán began playing together with Pól’s brother, Derek. Initially known as Forsaken for a brief spell, the band spent the early days playing a rough hybrid of early, primitive thrash and death metal.

In 1991, vocalist Nemtheanga joined the band after seeing an advertisement for a singer at The Sound Cellar, a specialist metal store in Dublin. According to Primordial lore, the ad was posted and responded to within a couple of hours.
With Nemtheanga on board, the band began to pursue a darker direction, drawing influence from Bathory, Celtic Frost, and the emerging Greek and Norwegian black metal scenes. Primordial became the first black metal-style band to emerge from Ireland with the release of their Dark Romanticism demo in the summer of 1993.
Making it clear they are a primal force who consistently lay it on the line, fans can expect their Academy gig to feature a setlist of songs pulled from their extensive discography: Spirit the Earth Aflame, The Gathering Wilderness and To The Nameless Dead.
