For fans of Tame Impala, Jungle and Parcels, Loraine Club are a breath of fresh air in the Irish music scene.
Irish electronic disco and groove band Loraine Club have released their much-anticipated debut EP Desire, following their live show announcement earlier this year.
The six-piece group is made up of brothers Jordan and Zac Curtis, Jonny Halpin, Brian Smith, James Connolly and Mick Keeley. The hypnotic outfit dropped the 4-track EP at midnight, featuring title track 'Desire' and second single 'Starting Now'.
Infectiously catchy track 'Desire' sets the tone for the EP's unique sound, which combines neo-soul, hip-hop, electronic disco and '90s-era R&B. It certainly brings something a bit different to the guitar-driven music scene popularised in Dublin.
The EP was produced by the bands own Zac Curtis - also known as UKG Producer Prozak - who himself has released a successful EP Make Me Feel on Shall Not Fade label. The young producer has been busy this time turning his hand at songwriting and even lends himself on vocals and keys on the EP.
The band's 2020 track 'Disco Biscuits' was championed by Phil Taggart of BBC Radio 1, who described it as "disinfectant disco". Other Loraine Club releases include 2019's 'Bleu' and 'Bills'.
Sold out live performances in famous Dublin venues such as Whelan's and The Workman's Club saw Loraine Club being invited to join internationally acclaimed act Friendly Fires at their headline show in The Academy, Dublin.

The band have also performed at mini-festivals and pop-up venues around the country with a live-show that is rehearsed to fine detail while also bursting with energy and atmosphere.
The lads spent lockdown working on the EP and now have a date set for their eagerly anticipated return to the stage when they once again play Dublin's Workman's Club on Friday, November 19th, 2021.
With a creative amalgamation of eclectic musical influences, the band's genre-bending EP is the ideal introduction.
