Dublin producer Evan Kennedy unveils his second single release ‘Pearphone,’ making a name for himself as a bold solo act. The single is out today, October 13.

A classically trained multi-instrumentalist-turned-producer, Kennedy has spent his career shaping sounds for other artists. His impressive credit list crosses a range of genres, behind the production for the likes of Coolio, Tebi Rex, Versatile, Offica, and members of the hip-hop ensemble D12.

‘Pearphone’ sees Kennedy’s experimental production hand shine through the sonics of the track, which seamlessly blends contemporary pop elements and indie instrumentation for a fresh, category-defying sound. Of the song’s meaning, Kennedy shares, “It plays on the feeling of being a kid and staying up all night texting ‘til your phone dies, even though your family is giving out about you never looking up, but they wouldn't understand because you're infatuated with finally having a phone and your own friend group and love interests, etc.”

Catchy melodies decorate the nostalgic lyricism of the song. Kennedy’s vocals are groovy, coupled with a steady beat that ebbs and flows throughout the laidback track. ‘Pearphone’ follows his debut single ‘Francis,’ released earlier this year. With another dazzling track to his own name, Evan Kennedy is taking strides forward as a solo artist, unveiling his own distinctive sound.

“I'm blessed to have worked with incredible artists in the past, but now I get to show you what I really sound like,” Kennedy shares. “It's a million miles away from what most people are expecting, but I like to keep it fresh, and it's where I'm at right now.”
