In the musician's first headline show since 2022, Dublin's Nealo will take to the main room of Whelan's on November 17th to celebrate the release of his sophomore album November Medicine
Dublin rapper Nealo has announced a headline show in the main room of Whelans on November 17th. This performance marks the release of his sophomore LP, November Medicine out on the same day.
The Whelan's gig marks the Choice Prize nominated artist's first headline show since 2022. Tickets will be on sale from noon on Friday 20th October.
November Medicine will contrast the Dubliner's first album All the Leaves Are Falling which was a celebration of learning to love and contribute to the city, whereas November Medicine is a record on how to celebrate and love himself after a particularly challenging period in the rapper's life.
Nealo describes this record as 'hard won, dragged out of himself during a particularly difficult period of his life'. Coming to the end of a ten year relationship and drawn out of a period of depression, November Medicine is a reckoning with what it means to be a father, a son, a friend, an ex husband and a good person.
November Medicine consists of nine tracks and four voice notes, from a voice that's 'smoked a million cigarettes and screamed through a hundred hardcore shows'
In this record, which comes from a deeply personal time in the artists' life, collaboration plays a crucial role. Friends lend a voice, a word and a shoulder in this record, featuring collaborations from Saint Sister's Morgana, Dublin Rapper Jehnova’s and Rebel Phoenix.
