The legendary Guns N' Roses bassist performs The Academy in Dublin as part of a tour celebrating the release of Lighthouse, his third solo full-length album. Tickets go on sale this Friday, 19th April.
One of rock’s most prolific and celebrated bassists Duff McKagan has announced a solo headline show at The Academy in Dublin on 30th September 2024, as part of an international tour celebrating his third full-length release, 2023’s Lighthouse.
Spanning 40 years, Duff McKagan’s extraordinary musical career has taken him from hole-in-the-wall punk clubs to sold-out world stadium tours. Along the way, he’s become a founding member of Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver and has collaborated with rock heavyweights including Ozzy Osbourne and Iggy Pop. Following a temporary departure from Guns N’ Roses in 1997, McKagan began to focus on solo material, releasing two albums since then.
Lighthouse marks the first full-length LP born in McKagan’s studio. Tracks like ‘Hope,’ which features veteran Paul McCartney drummer Abe Laboriel Jr and fellow GNR alum Slash, and the introspective number ‘I Just Don’t Know,’ for which McKagan enlisted longtime peer Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains. Other features include Iggy Pop on the title track ‘Lighthouse (Reprise).’

The album came hot on the heels of his second full-length release, Tenderness, in 2019 which featured tracks such as ‘Don't Look Behind You’ and ‘Chip Away,’ whom none other than Bob Dylan deemed a personal favourite of his.
The history of arena hard rock will come to fore when Duff McKagan plays Dublin's The Academy in September. Tickets start from €45 and go on sale this Friday, 19th April, at 9 am via Ticketmaster.
