The exhibition Where is my Mind? will run from August 18 -29
Duke Street Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition by renowned musician and photographer Dave Hingerty.
The exhibition “Where is my Mind?” will be opened by actress and musician Bronagh Gallagher and will run from August 19 - August 29, with the opening reception on Thursday, August 18 from 6pm - 8pm at Duke Street Gallery, 17 Duke St, Dublin 2. The afterparty will take place downstairs from 8pm at the Red Bank Wine Bar with live music from Mick Pyro, Ger Kiely and special guests.
Through his photographs Hingerty explores the concept of duality, the contrasting states of mind and engagement. He explores the idea of being physically present but mentally disconnected, lost in internal thought. This is a concept that he can personally identify with, experiencing this dual mindset whilst performing. Hingerty observes his fellow musicians and documents their world, stage personas and behind the scenes reality, this is where he draws his inspiration.
Hingerty gives the viewer a unique insight into the realities of touring. His photographs present a behind the scenes viewpoint with often inmate and tender moments shared with fellow musicians and friends. Dave Hingerty is an internationally renowned drummer, percussionist, and master instructor; playing with household names such as The Frames, Josh Ritter, Kila and Paul Brady.
