Ed isn't expected to chat to Ryan Tubridy about the loss of Anne Mary Sheeran, who inspired his hit song 'Nancy Mulligan'.
Pop star Ed Sheeran has been announced as among the line-up for Friday night's edition of The Late Late Show.
The interview with Ryan Tubridy was recorded during Ed Sheeran's last visit to Dublin, and will therefore predate his grandmother Anne Mary Sheeran's death, and his current New York copyright trial.
Friday also sees the release of Sheeran's sixth studio album, Subtract (-).
The fifth and final in his series of albums with mathematical symbols as titles, Sheeran wrote and recorded its 14 songs with Aaron Dessner, a member of US alt/rock outfit The National - who has also worked with Taylor Swift and Phoebe Bridgers.

Sheeran's Wexford-born grandmother Anne Mary Sheeran inspired 'Nancy Mulligan', and she died at the age of 98, on April 25 at Castle Gardens Nursing Home in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford.
The 'Bad Habits' hitmaker was expected to attend the funeral at St Patrick’s Church in the village of Monaseed, Co Wexford, before the New York copyright infringement trial forced him to the States.
Former nurse Nancy will be buried in St Patrick’s Cemetery.
32-year-old Sheeran spent many childhood holidays at her home in Craanford, between Gorey and Rathnew. He wrote a song in 2017 for the well-known community worker.

It was inspired by his granny and her Belfast husband Bill’s love story. Ed previously described their relationship as a sort of “Romeo and Juliet romance”, which “was the most romantic thing.”
Nancy said: "He came to Wexford every year on holidays once we moved here. I'll never think of him as famous. He's exactly the same as he always was when he visits and it's very rare because he's always working."
“When you think how he was working from the age of 14, you’d have to feel sorry for him. You know he’s so tired but he loved it.”
To mark the launch of Subtract, Ed Sheeran has also invited Irish fans to a free listening experience at the Irish Georgian Society in Dublin on Friday from 12pm to 6pm.
It’s part of a global listening event, where fans can hear it first, prior to its release.
The Late Late Show, 9.35pm, Friday, RTÉ One.
