Critically acclaimed rock powerhouse group EELS have announced their second compilation album EELS So Good: Essential EELS, Vol. 2. The first volume, Meet The EELS, spanning the group’s releases from 1996 to 2006, was released in 2008; they now continue their unfinished journey with the follow-up, due for release December 15 via E Works/[PIAS].

Coupled with the album release announcement, EELS have announced their forthcoming Christmas song ‘Christmas, Why You Gotta Do Me Like This.’ An alternative holiday ballad with an EELS twist, along the lines of their previous Christmas tunes ‘Everything’s Gonna Be Cool This Christmas’ and ‘Christmas is Going to the Dogs,’ the holiday track will be released November 29 and included on the compilation tracklist.

EELS So Good Vol. 2 spans the last 15 years of the group’s discography, including 7 studio albums and EELS’ best-loved hits such as ‘Fresh Blood’ and ‘That Look You Gave That Guy.’ Plus, new fan favourites off of their 2020 album Earth To Dora, as well as three unreleased tunes and five tracks being pressed to vinyl for the first time, including ‘Royal Pain’ from the motion picture Shrek The Third, and ‘Man Up’ from the Yes Man official soundtrack.

The band journeyed to Dublin earlier this year for their first Irish gig in five years, delivering an electrifying performance at the 3Olympia Theatre.

Earning consistent acclaim over their career since their 1996 debut Beautiful Freak, EELS have 14 studio albums to their name and an always-growing loyal fanbase. Frontman and singer-songwriter E (Mark Oliver Everett) is always seeking something different with the group’s sound, making the EELS compilation album a thrilling journey ahead.
